  • Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know that the title is really original, but it's great no matter how many times you say it. Maly and I have started our Christmas break and we are in the middle of watching the first series of the TV show 24 with some of the students of the DTS. Really intense and addicting. We are doing wonderful and are excited for the unknown of the future. Through prayer we have felt that we are not to go on our outreach unless the money comes in so now we are just waiting to see what happens and we are excited for whatever. God has really done a lot of breaking in us the last couple of months and really has brought me to this point of obedience. I have learned so much, probably the biggest being so dependent upon God and obeying what and where He leads. You just have to gather peoples advice and pray and seek what God says. We are greatly enjoying the holiday seasons and miss all our friends and family back home and abroad. Hope you all are doing wonderful and have a great holiday season.

  • Wow we cannot believe Maly and I have less than a month of lecture phase left in our DTS. Time has definately flown by! Maly and I are constantly being stretched which is a place we hope to be for the rest of our lives. Honestly I believe the biggest reason we are in England is to get a better worldview and to see the world from a different perspective. God has already done a lot of that in our lives. This last week we learned a lot about identity and our passions and really for me was a week of pressing into God and hearing his voice. Sometimes I believe God hides himself just to see if we will conitnue to seek him and that's really what this last week was for me. My pressing question is were do we find our identity and what where we created for. This is something our world desperately needs and something we all struggle with. God reminded me to make sure my identity is in him and not in something I do. I have a burning passion...I guess a belief that we where created for intimacy with God. Out of this and only this will all else flow out of. It's scary to think there are Christians who find there identity in their job or title and yet how easy it is to fall into this trap. A good question to ask ourselves is "do I seek God for what he does or can do or do I seek God for who he is?"

  • DTS Gathering

Hey all, just got finished with a crazy, fun week where God moved and touched all of us. We just got done with a week long gathering of the dts's in Eng and one in Northern Ireland. There was about 150 of us all together representing at least 28 different countries! Talk about diversity, but how awesome it was to worship, pray and fellowship with so many countries! We learned a lot and had awesome worship and prayer times along with great teaching by a variety of different speakers. We also went out on outreach to 5 different places and God really moved. There where many opportunities to share the love of God. Personally there was several of us who talked with three young men who where muslims for about 2 hours. Even though I've said it so many times in the past, God is still showing me the importance of intimacy. While our future is not completely lined out, God really spoke to me that the absolute most important thing I can do to prepare is to become more and more intimate with him. Sometimes it seems selfish, but I know that we cannot raise up young people that are passionate if we ourselves are not passionate. We as Christians MUST burn with a hunger for God. Check out some new pics of our gathering.

  • Mind shifting!

Yes the title pretty much sums up this past week. God is doing a lot of mind shifting in our lives especially in our worldviews. This weeks lectures were really on the cross and how it has been represented in history. Lynn Green (the chairman of YWAM) spoke on Mon and shared a lot about how often the cross and Chrisitanity has been so misrepresented to so many people! No wonder so many are cautious about Christianity and the cross, they have a wrong view about it and we as Christians have given it to them! Also a women named Cathy Nobles came and spoke about reconciliation and she had a ton of knowledge and wisdom gained from living in the Middle East for several years. We also went to a very diverse town called Luton where we went around and asked people what they thought about God. Needless to say many of them didn't want to talk about it even if they did believe in him. We are having a barn dance tonight and are looking forward to learning new ways to dance. God continues to show me how absolutely important love is, but also what it means to love. So many people think it means to never offend and to always compromise. Did Jesus offend anyone? oh yes I believe He did. Did Jesus every compromise his beliefs? Yes compromise your desires and wants, but also be careful not to compromise your beliefs. Remember we are called to be peacemakers, not peacekeepers!
